It looks like a regular scratch or lotto ticket. The difference in Peel Offs, of course, is that one side of the peel off paper contains a PIN (personal identification number) that contains 2 or 4 minutes of phone time. This makes it also a pre-paid phone card, which can only be used on a home phone.
To use the Phone Card part of our Peel Offs, a toll-free access phone number is printed on the inside of the ticket. When dialing this access number, the caller is prompted to enter the PIN found printed inside the ticket. On average, a 2 minute call is usually enough to leave a voice-message or even have a quick exchange, so this again certainly becomes a useful and usable product.
In addition, like our pull tabs, our Peel Offs are a sweepstakes item, and phone time is a service-product that adequately meets Federal Sweepstakes law requirements.
Note however that there is a different view and position taken when Peel Offs are sold out of a device that appears and acts like a slot machine. The safeguard then, is to follow federal sweepstakes laws and dispense from a simple acrylic dispenser. This is how our tickets are sold.
